A couple of years ago, my sister told me about a philanthropic site called "Greater Good". They raise money for all sorts of charitable endeavors like animal rescue, breast cancer treatment, autism, literacy, feeding the hungry, and providing food for hungry veterans. The beauty is that, rather than having people donate, all they ask is that you click a button. Much like with Google adsense, or several other web content sites, they generate ad revenue based on how many "hits" each one gets. As such, you are able to help contribute to worthy causes without paying out of pocket. People are encouraged to go every day and the amount that they're able to raise really starts to pile up once you start getting people all across the internet to chip in. All the money goes to the cause and the site has even been verified as legit by Snopes.
Putting that aside, it isn't much of an inconvenience to the person web surfing and it costs you absolutely nothing, so really, there's no reason not to do it. With the economy in the pooper, people aren't as able to give back as much as they may like, this allows you to do just that. I highly recommend going to the site and checking it out. You can help contribute to a lot of worthy causes quickly and easily.
