Daily Dose of Awesome: Koizilla's Theme

I already talked about how awesome Avatar: The Last Airbender is.  I wanted to give special credit to the soundtrack as they did a really great job on it.  The one stand out track, for me personally, is the music they played during the climax of the season one finale, when the moon spirit gets killed and Aang and the water spirit join forces to unleash some furious vengeance upon the fire nation.

One of my friends once posited that silence is always scarier.  I think it's a case by case thing.  There are, in fact, instances where the lack of a soundtrack can be very effective, but I think that there are other times where if you get the right score, it can make a scene ten times more horrifying.

This is one of those instances.  When I first saw the scene, my jaw hung open and I got chills up my spine.  Listening to the music on its own has a lesser effect, but it is still very effective in its own right.  Just listening to it, you can imagine people staring up in horror as this gargantuan beast approaches.  The music perfectly captures that "Holy #$@%! What the #%#^ is that thing!?" emotion that I can only imagine was going through every fire nation soldier's head as their fleet was single handedly torn apart.

The only downside to this track is that it's so short, but it is awesome nonetheless.
