It's a dream many comic fans have, picking their favorite heroes and putting them all on the same team together. Both Marvel and DC have their respective super teams and the writers of Dark Horse's End League comic have picked their own dream team by creating thinly veiled pastiches of various characters from both universes. I decided on ten heroes because it's a nice round number, also it's the perfect medium between a small squad like the Defenders or going all out and picking every hero available like the DCAU did with Justice League Unlimited. So, with all that out of the way, here we go!
10. Wonder Woman: Princess of the Amazons and the third in DC's "big three.
9. Wolverine: Because being on four teams and having your own solo comic book aren't enough. Wolverine's got plenty of superhero experience as well as being very very difficult to kill. The law dictates that if a team is put together, Wolverine has to be on it; that's just the way it works.
8. Martian Manhunter: As well as having Superman's strength and heat vision, this character is telepathic, a shape shifter, and has the ability to alter his density to phase through objects or become as hard as diamond.
7. Rogue: The movie's may have miscast her, but in the comics Rogue is quite powerful. I remember back in high school when I was reading X-Men, she absorbed some alien's ability and started manifesting the powers of every mutant she'd ever touched. That was some time ago, so I'm sure that's been ret-conned, but for simplicity's sake, I will assume that she still has her Ms. Marvel powers, super strength and flight in addition to invulnerability. Her absorbing ability makes both a serious threat and a potent wild card.
6. Iron Man: Yes, he will forever be labeled as the comic book booze-hound, but he's a good hero. He would also provide another financial backer as well as high tech equipment.
5. Dr. Strange: You have to go with the Sorcerer Supreme when it comes to the magical realm of comics.
4. Thor: His dialogue is corny, but he's a freaking god. His strength is about equal to Superman's and he does have that hammer with the name that no one can pronounce.
3. Green Lantern: I really don't care which one. Many hardcore fans will clamor for Hal. Truth is, I'd be happy with any of the four lanterns from Earth as they are all quite good at what they do. For the sake of originality, I will go with Alan Scott, as he was the first and is the only Green Lantern not associated with the Corps.
1 and 2. Superman and Batman: You can't have a great superhero team without the world's finest; it just isn't done. The world's greatest superhero and the world's greatest detective are shoo-ins for spots on my team.
