I'm a huge fan of The Venture Bros. This week's episode featured an African american delivery man in a supporting role. During a conversation with Hank, he asks the delivery man if he's psychic. Dr. Venture interrupts and says that just because he's black doesn't mean he has the shining.
I figured it was just a throwaway line, funny, but not really worth writing a whole article about. As it turns out, the delivery man does have visions and returns to the compound saying that the boys are in trouble and that something is screwy at the Venture compound.
He doesn't have a very large role in the episode as far as screen time goes, but his presence does drive the plot forward a good deal.
It was a nice nod to both the movie and book. The delivery man's last name was Halloway, which comes pretty close to Halloran, adding to the allusion that the character represents.
