Wichita anime convention

Anime fans in the Wichita area will be happy to know that there is a convention coming up later this summer.  Simply titled, Anime Convention Wichita, this annual event is host to several guests as well as various events that span the course of three days.

The event this year will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita (400 West Waterman,Wichita, Kansas, USA 67202) for those of you who are curious about the address.

There will be anime screenings, cosplay and cosplay contests,Rock Band and Dance Dance Revolution gaming sessions, and a variety of gaming options such as card, tabletop, RPG, or LARPing.  There will even be a large dance event with DJ Infamous hosting. 

Guests scheduled to appear include Vic Mignona, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Travis Willingham, and Peter Pixie.

The convention will take place from July 9th through July 11th.

The convention’s over now, but this article announced the con when I was trying to figure out how to write “local” content about anime.  It’s not often you get that sort of news in Wichita, so I figured I might as well take advantage of the opportunity.
