Here is a look at the Marvel animated movies that have been released, as well as the ones yet to come:
Ultimate Avengers
The first animated movie sees SHIELD bringing a team together to stop an upcoming alien invasion. The focus of the story is on Captain America as he is unfrozen to lead the group assembled by Nick Fury. Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, and the Hulk all come together to save the world. It's a rather slow entry and the alien plotline is anticlimactic. The movie redeems itself with a spectacular knock down drag out fight between the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers.
Ultimate Avengers 2
This sequel picks up where the last one left off. The aliens are back and looking for revenge. Black Panther joins the fray.
The Invincible Iron Man
Before Robert Downey Jr. made the role his own. This was the film origin story for the comic book character. The first half is very similar to the live action version, with Stark getting injured, captured, and forced to build a suit of armor. The real difference comes in the second half. Where the live action Iron Man battles his evil doppelganger, the animated Iron Man pits his science against ancient mysticism and the spirit of The Mandarin.
Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme
The best of the Marvel animated DTV's, this one tells the origin of Dr. Strange. It opens with Dr. Stephen Strange being a cocky uncaring doctor, refusing to help people unless they are high profile. His life is shattered after an accident renders his hands useless. The rest of the movie chronicles his training and discovery of the mystical realm. Not unexpectedly, the world is put in peril when fellow student and rival Baron Mordo threatens to unleash the demonic Dormammu.
Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow
The Avengers have fallen against the might of the insane android Ultron. Forced into hiding, the offspring of said heroes are trained by Tony Stark to be the next generation of heroes. Ultron discovers the sanctuary and the young heroes are forced to step up to the plate and save the world as well as themselves.
Hulk Vs.
A double feature of sorts. This is really two short movies that pits the mighty green beast against Wolverine (who he has battled on more than one occasion in the comics) and Thor. I'm not sure how rich the plots are going to be but I'm OK with two 45 minute slugfests where 2 superhuman beings just pummel the crap out of each other.
Thor: Son of Asgard
This will most likely be released to coincide with the live action Thor movie that Marvel Studios is planning.
Planet Hulk
Animated movies that are adapted from the recent comic arcs of the same name. Hulk gets sent to an alien world and becomes that world's gladiator.
