Chud.com Reviews 'Misery' Bluray

*Originally published on 10/7/09

Yesterday, movie site CHUD posted a review of the newly released blu-ray copy of Misery.
The movie still stands as one of the great King adaptations and a great movie in its own right.  Kathy Bates' Annie Wilkes still sits with the best of all time movie villains and turns in the performance of her career.

This review echoes my sentiments about the movie perfectly.  I haven't had a chance to pick this up yet, but rest assured I definitely will.

I'm glad that this movie got a great transition to bluray.  There are a lot of great movies that get subpar bluray transfers and it's a bloody shame.   The image and sound quality is supposed to be amazing.  I know

This bluray also includes the DVD, mirroring Disney's strategy.  What's really peculiar though is that all of the special features (and there are quite a few of them) are on the DVD with just the movie on the bluray.  I'm as befuddled as the Chud reviewer and I agree with the bluray.com review of the film when they say that this shouldn't become a regular practice.  There's plenty of room on bluray discs, just put the features on the first disc and make it easier for everyone.

For King fans who've made the transition to bluray, this is a must buy.
